One of the misconceptions about being a Christian is non-Christians think we don’t know how to have fun or have a sense of humor. Trust me, if the Big Guy can have a sense of humor when it comes to dealing with us mere mortals, so can we.
The difference for Christians is we don’t have to debase ourselves or others to generate a smile. Laughter at life or ourselves is a gift from God.
So, let’s smile a little!
My Appetite Is My Shepherd (Pound 23)
My appetite is my shepherd; I always want.
It maketh me to sit down and stuff myself.
It leadeth me to my refrigerator repeatedly.
It leadeth me in the path of Burger King for a Whopper.
It destroyeth my shape.
Yea, though I knoweth I gaineth,
I will not stop eating, for the food tasteth so good.
The ice cream and the cookies, they comfort me.
When the table is spread before me, it exciteth me, for I know I soon shall dig in.
As I filleth my plate continuously,
My clothes runneth smaller.
Surely bulges and pudgies shall follow me all the days of my life
And I shall be “pleasingly plump” forever.
And now for the bonus …
The Definition
Calories (noun): Tiny creatures who live inside your closet and sew your clothes a little bit tighter every night.
THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile and a grateful heart. — Zig Ziglar
LOVE the take on Ps 23!!!! 😀
On the subject of food…
They say my life’s disaster,
with cancer’s sad ol’ song;
but, hey, I augh, just faster
at all that’s going wrong.
Eating is a challenge;
not much to dine upon,
but sometimes still I manage
a Technicolour yawn.
The dogs are faster yet
to avoid a pukey bath
but sometimes, yeah, they do get
thus rained on, and a laugh.
Sure, the humour can be grim
but every time you smile, you win.
