One of the misconceptions about being a Christian is non-Christians think we don’t know how to have fun or have a sense of humor. Trust me, if the Big Guy can have a sense of humor when it comes to dealing with us mere mortals, so can we.
The difference for Christians is we don’t have to debase ourselves or others to generate a smile. Laughter at life or ourselves is a gift from God.
So, let’s smile a little!

The New Grandmother
As a new grandmother, a woman was very protective of her daughter Meredith’s baby girl. One cool afternoon she dropped by to see her grandchild. Meredith and a friend had taken little Allison for a walk in her stroller and were just coming up the street. As soon as they reached grandma, she bent down to admire Allison and, in her fussiest voice, remarked, “Your little head is cold. You should have a hat on.”
Her daughter looked knowingly at her friend and said, “You owe me ten bucks.”

The Light 
If laughter has to have a reason
it isn’t worth it’s bitter salt,
for humour in its love is season
to turn sorrow to a fault.
No one here will emerge
from this life alive and free
save those who exit to the verge
of proffered divinity.
The Lamb that took the lethal Cross
had to laugh while He cried
because that which was seen as loss
was transfigured as He died.
Did He smile at their expressions’ proof
that His return was Heaven’s truth?
