My publicist suggested I participate in a book blitz. Being a publishing neophyte, I wasn’t quite sure what a “book blitz” was exactly. I knew it was a promotional tool aimed at getting your book and your name in front of people outside your circle. Book tours are virtual tours where a book is promoted for a determined period of time — in this case, a week — makings virtual stops on different blogs. The stop can be an interview, a review, or just a simple promotion of the book.

Cat (Lyon Media Service), my publicist, suggested Enticing Journey Book Promotions, so I checked them out. The ladies at Enticing Journey sold me. Their relatively inexpensive blog tour included invitations to book bloggers in my genre to participate; manage participation; set  review guidelines, master schedule, excerpts, social media links, author bio, story synopsis, and buy links; and promote the tour on a variety of platforms –Facebook,  Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and their website.

I have no idea whether the latest experiment will be successful, but I do know it will reach thousands of eyes I would not normally be able to reach. Ena and Amanda contacted me over the weekend with the tentative schedule of stops. There are 87 visits set up next week, Dec. 9-13. More bloggers can sign in from there, including at Cat’s site.

From my standpoint, I want to thank Catherine, Ena and Amanda for all their hard pre-blitz work and encouragement. Of course, I want to thank those brave bloggers who are willing to take a chance on me. And I ask each of you to visit some of those blogs, to like {if you’re so inclined} and show support.
