To kick off the “new” approach to blogging, Sundays will feature a Sunday staple — words from His Word. Most of a time, it will be a devotional that caught my attention, although sometimes, I’ll include my words from the pulpit. I’d love to hear your feedback.
This week, the daily devotion from the Assembly of God.
Shelly was shocked to learn that her friend from high school, Darla, had her house burn down, losing everything she owned. Darla would need a new place to live, fresh clothes and all the household essentials. A website had been set up to list specific needs, even asking for used clothes and items. Shelly wanted to do better. She didn’t want to give the leftovers. She went to the store and bought brand-new items. She wanted to offer her best.
“When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty (Malachi 1:8).
Do you offer your best to God in every area of your life? Are you faithful in giving of your time, talents, tithe and other resources?
Remember, our heavenly Father gave His best to us, so shouldn’t we always give our best to Him? If you do your best, God will do the rest.
Give God your best in everything you do!
THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: Love yourself, be kind to you and give yourself a break. You aren’t perfect.
